And Pete, I see why you support Obama.
He made some great points, especially in comparison to McCain.
If I were old enough to vote, it'd be for Obama.
I loved the video, i think it's one of the absolute best i've ever and you totally had me going, i had no idea till you pulled the mask of (by the way best in-joke smile ever, don't know why it just looked like a huge in-joke grin to me). I'd say what i love about it but it seems to me everyones covered all the great things about it. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Joe turing into gabe bit though joe was like 'oh yeah, you want a peice of this?!" then tore the mask off and gabe was just a psycho. it was brilliant! XD Gutsy effort satirizing Sarah Palin by the way.
Despite being in Aus (i can't believe it's been a year since i saw you guys live in melbourne, did you get my letter? I drew you like manga characters on the front) i did see the debate. Pity i can't do anything about this election. I can't really comment much on the debate because a lot of the events they talked about i hadn't heard about before. I do believe Obama's plans and the steps he said he'd take seemed very crucial to improving the state of America right now. Beyond that, i'm simply not educated enough on the subject of politics to talk about it without sounding like an idiot.
Everyone has crappy weeks pete so we understand how you feel. Why wouldn't we take it easy on you and encourage you to get back on your awesomely supra'd feet? Go boldly Pete, go boldly (like i need to tell you that) we're behind you all the way.
about the debate: not really anything that i hadnt already known about. mccain kinda avoided looking at obama and for a second there i thought mccain was gonna lose his temper. (as i was hoping:D)
---cortney---
but obama was totally composed, and mad mccain look bad, like he was smiling the whole time:)
i hope he wins. even though i dont live in the states, they have so much power over the world.
i care more about american ellections than canadian. haha.
www.myspace.com/secondmeasure
i actually emailed you about us.
i hope your week goes better man. we all have our ups and downs.
My friend forwarded me some email titled "I'm voting democrat because..." that was full of a load of crap, which was basically telling me what i believe and getting everything wrong. One was along the lines of "im voting democrat because i believe we should be able to marry whatever we want. ive decided to marry my horse." Were ACTUALLY democratic because we believe people are entitled to their right to be happy and that our country should be concerned about the economy or war rather than who people want to marry. It's also basically implying that gays arent any better than animals which is totally false and completely ignorant.
I accept that people have different beliefs but I'm not going to send someone an email full of crap about their political party just to tick them off.
and omg i want to see a midtown show, on the moon or anywhere.
oh, and i'm sorry about your shitty week, sweetie. damn the man, save the empire! or something like that. <3
xo
i'm sorry you were having a bad week, as completely fangirlish as that sounds.
have a doughnut, give your wife a kiss, and do something that makes you happy.
=]
The art is too amazing for words.
genuienly
luke chueu's site is going to my faves.
i'm sorry about your shitty week, i'm sure it'll get better. simple things make complicated men happy, just relax and don't stress out. i'm sure everything will be alright.
looking to seeing you in barcelona.
as did the rest of the vidoe.
the cover art is sick.
kudos to chueh.
oh, and thank you for crushing yet another dream pete.
you really cant just let us thing that one day we'll get to see a midtown show on the moon with Blink up next?
dream crusher. haha.
p.s. you make a good nun.
Check out my cover of "I Don't Care" on electric violin, guitar, bass, and drums!

i like the cover art, honestly, just because it's clean and not as busy as previous albums. it gives the impression that you guys are mature (obviously you're really good actors, we all know the truth guys) and your music has matured too - that part is true, as far as i can tell.
peace.
thanks.
and you make me laugh so hard when you
said about the 2 d-bags in one clip ^^
i hope next week will better ,
i still love you guys whatever happns
That would blow my mind (even a little bit more than having han solo). I will definitely be checking out the artwork.
I can't wait for the record to come out, man. It's gonna make the day better considering I can't vote (one goddamn year). However, I DID watch the debate. I thought it was interesting, not a big fan of the guy playing ref. What'd you think of it?
I hope next week is better for you, Pete.
A better week for you, Pete.
So are we ever going to see the proper version of the video? (Sorry, this is bugging me.)
And I LOVE your cover for the new album. Ignore what the haters say. He's a great artist and sometimes the simplest album covers are the best.
I hope this week is better for you. Take care.
-KP
the debate was good. I'm excited to see Biden and Palin.
oh man if Obama doesn't win this...I don't know what to think of America...
im sorry you had a crappy week. i sort of did too. so i guess that's one thing we can share.
i like the art? its interesting.
and you're not a douche bag. stop saying that. now spencer however...is.
as for the debate...meh debate shemate. the whole thing was a major fail. im just so confused on everything to be honest. which is a scary place to be in when you're 19 and can vote.
anyways.....Discouragement in life is inevitable...but DEFEAT is optional.
ox ox ox
*hug*
I thought the most interesting part was when McCaine compared Obama's stubborness on some issues to Bush's stubborness, and called him on it like it was a bad thing. I'm not sure it's smart of him to support someone for as many years as McCaine's supported Bush, and then to turn around and compare your opponent to him and use it as a negative point.
hope you feel better.
*virtual hug*
the debate was painful to watch. grown men trying to rip each other apart with words never fancied me.
everyone has their off weeks, you'll bounce back.
oh and u probably wont read this but i have to say it anyways i had an art project and we had to draw 5 things tht we like to do and listening to music was one of them of course so i drew an Ipod and i put one of ur songs on it i know it might not be a big deal but i felt like i had to put u guys on there cause ya'll mean a lot to me [:
i don't think you fully understand this concept.
This might be a stupid idea, but have you ever considered making a Decaydance calender?
For some reason, i thought about it today.
12 Bands and all.
I'd buy it anyway... xD

Sorry to hear you've had a crappy week here's a friendly hug *hugs* (just a friendly one, I'm not about to piss off Ashlee she could kick my butt!). I hope you're having a good weekend!
i like the like the cover art. at least you didnt just use some weird over posed photo of yourselves like so many other artists do. i already liked luke chueh before though so i guess im biased lol.
i hope next week goes better for you, ive had a shitty week too. like double shitty ,i'm coming to l.a next summer though, maybe i'll see you. i'll be the english girl who no one can understand lmao.
i've just had to start taking ambien, i got them the day i heard your premix of catch me if you can, i still laugh at the irony.
you should just ignore all the haters because really they're just jelous that they can't make really cool people draw stuff for them :p
good luck with the kid =]
xxx
p.s how far down do you actually read these comments? if you read this please say haha.
this one: http://www.lukechueh.com/paintings/soutpaw-2007...
but i hope that maybe you'll find better days.. (goo goo dolls haha)
ive exhausted my fingers talking about the debate, so ill just say obama won.
I saw the end of the debate and I wanted to punch Mccain in the face, but then again I have to respect my elders. I thought Obama handled the whole thing pretty well and once again he's inspired me.
Hope next week is easier on you, I know I could use an easier week too.
You shouldn't be so hard on yourself, you being knocked out in a video isn't something I liked...in my opinion. :)
The debate was alright, I'm not a politically involved person...so I wouldn't know.
I love that guy's artwork, it's awesome.
And I didn't watch the debate and I don't really know why I didn't? I should have, but I failed. :(
I'm sorry to hear about your crappy week. My week kind of sucked too, had to get a tooth pulled and that blew!! :( But I'm all better now. And I hope next week is better for you, Pete. <3
FWIW I don't think you're a d-bag or any of those other things. Sorry you had a crappy week. *hugs*
Check out my cover of "I Don't Care" on electric violin, guitar, bass, and drums!

b) debate was okay. nothing really new from either one. i'm more interested in watching palin fail next week.
c) nothing about "the office"? really?! c'mon.....
Check out my cover of "I Don't Care" on electric violin, guitar, bass, and drums!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=39puq5v0RG8
The debate was actually fairly interesting although I didn't get a chance to see if they discussed Darfur because I was extremely tired and worn out from writing this story. I'm neither a democrat or a republican, but I can fairly say that it was right for Obama to win the polls on the debate. He knows his stuff, but I have to admit, his choice in VP wasn't so great. I like the way the both of them tackled the issues in the middle east and the little lol brought by the moderator or whatever of the debate telling Barack to tell McCain what he had to say to his face.
I enjoyed the debate.
I hope your week gets better.
God bless,
Jenoris
I hope whatever personal stuff you were dealing with gets resolved & all is good in Wentz World.
As for guests on the album... I'm mainly curious about whether Brendon is just playing keyboard or singing too. Because I've heard both things so far... Either way, I love that kid so I'm excited about that xD
Oh and I really like the album cover, by the way.
Edit: About the debate, it hasn't aired yet here. From what I've been reading on Beckett's blog, it almost sounds like everyone was a different debate. Some say McCain was constantly on the defense, others say Obama was. Some say Obama was constantly interrupting McCain, some people say it was the other way around.
I don't know what to believe! But I'm certainly on Obama's side for most of the issues & hoping America will elect him.
About the " debate": … well, I would love to give my opinion, but I didn't see. I'm in Brazil,so it didn't pass here in any channel, so it's pretty difficult to say something about it. Sorry! : /
And about your " ps": … you are famous, very talented, bassplayer of a superfamous superband and blábláblá, but you're a human being too, you have bad days, difficult weeks and etc., so don't worry, dude, 'coz we will never forget to see the "Pete-Human" first, and "Pete-Famous" in second...
Or third... :D
I actually like the artwork
I don't judge you cuz I don't know you
I love your music and to me, that's all that matters.
So keep on keeping on.
Have a great weekend!
I love you guys as a band because I love the music the four of you make together - when all of you are fully involved in some area - for me personally, adding appearances all over the place detracts from that. Justin's cameo worked. I wholly approve of that kind of input. But you guys don't NEED anyone else on the album. Most of us are here because of those four awkward punk kids, still, even if those kids have grown up.
I hope you won't lose sight of that.
I think, to be fair, that it could have had a pink mohawk and a green face and the assumption in bandom would still have been that it was Pete...
(I did include the word 'apparent' because no one's quite sure, though. ; P)
Check out my cover of "I Don't Care" on electric violin, guitar, bass, and drums!

also, welcome to the luke chueh club. i've been digging his shit since the 06. he's pretty talented, i'm glad FOB was able to see that.
way to stand up for what you believe in. art is many things to many people but it's just like love to some of us. it's what we live on and see everywhere. personally, i love the album cover. it's different and aren't we all about "different" this year? some of us have been all about different all of our lives, aka yours truely.
you're a growing man. keep changing. pass that on to a few others
=)
P.S. and Mr. Wentz, i laughted my butt off when you/spencer pratt got knocked out. adore you but that was funny. i need to laugh that day too, so thanks. now, if i could just see patrick flip you off again...today will be awesome.

btw, i am french, and i know you have probably heard this a lot but omg i really really want to hear all of you pronounce folie a deux correctly. as lol as it is hearing it said so many different ways, i am jw if you actually know...?
thanks for introducing me to luke chueh. anddd, since i am commenting on something you've written for the first time ever i may as well go out on a limb and tell you about this: http://www.freeplayfoundation.org/index.html
the freeplay foundation, which is something i've been trying to raise awareness for at my school but i'm no you, most people will just look and forget all about it the next day. but i'll find a way. :)
How DO you pronounce folie a deux?
lol french
and thanks for the reassurance :)
There's already the tomayto/tomahto element which stiffs it further. When I say the word 'dew' it probably sounds like a 'j' rather than a 'd', so it's like 'joo', where as others would pronounce it more in the region of 'dyoo'.
I definitely wouldn't go with 'dur', because where I come from the 'u' sound would be long.
I did get an 'A' in my French Speaking GCSE as well, so I am familiar with the language to an extent, although I'm by no means fluent.
well just to clarify my point, there's my pronunciation -- the number two, deux.
It's really hard to articulate.
slang will always be the way to go, haha.
but i don't know. i pretty much suck at french.
i found a video.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c0_6T2ZL2IM&feat...
we are all saved from further pronouncing the title wrong.
'folay uh duh.'
French teachers all over will be utterly confused as to why their students are suddenly interested in pronouncing folie a deux.
...if that Midtown/blink 182 concert on the moon ever happens, can my good friend, Sonic the Hedgehog come? He heard that Mario was going to be in the pit, and you KNOW you wanna see that go down, dude. XD
"commenters thanks for taking it easy on me i had a crappy week for personal reasons. next week lets get back to usual."
How about...no. You deserve to have nice things said to you. Not all the time, admittedly, but a lot of times, yes.
And I know you're thinking that I'm dead wrong considering all the stuff you've been through and whatnot, but in your heart, you know I'm dead right on this subject, Wentz. DEAD. RIGHT.
You're LOVED, Pete Wentz. LOVED. <333
i can't wait until i move out of my parents house and i can actually buy artwork i like, instead of the frilly and cute pointless shit my mom buys for the house.
as for the debate? i got home yesterday and i slept for hours, so i missed it. i suck, i know :(
p.s. pete, it really freaks me out knowing that you read these comments. although i think it's kind of awesome too :)
There's also a group of people that appreciate the work you guys put into your music, and enjoy seeing your success as well as hearing what new thing you guys have come up with.
Besides, if someone really doesn't like "I Don't Care" they could just calm down and listen to "Dance, Dance" again.
I like it a lot. It's something different than anything you've done, and anything i've seen.
i love how one bear is actually a man, and he's giving a bear a piggy-back ride, so it's like he shares the madness because he thinks he's a bear.
that's what i get when i see that.
and politics confuse me. i know, i know 'my generations the future of the country' but it's confusing. and i avoid confusing stuff. end of story.
Screw everyone who makes you feel like shit, because they suck. :/
Hopefully you enjoy the rest of your weekend. :)
I've been into Luke Chueh for years so I can't say enough good words about your choice for the cover.
ok gotta go now...
BTW seeing you and Spencer Pratt get knocked out at the same time was sseeeeeeriously funny and unnexpected. nice work. best video yet.
I was just sitting here reading all
the comments of your "I like..." on
FOE, and out of no where, this
idea just came running up to me
and jumped into my ear, then
set up a little cozey home in my
brain, and wouldnt leave, so I
thought, whats any other way to
get rid of an idea that just wont
leave?... TELL SOMEONE!
And whos better to tell than the
person the idea was about.
Mr. Peter Wentz himself. And
I might as well leave it here
because you SAY you read these
comments.
-Peter Wentz and Mitchel Davis-
Yeah thats right, im seeing an
awesome fxcking colaberation
right there. ooooh yeaaaah.
Who's Mitchel Davis? you might ask.
Well, put it this way,
www.youtube.com/livelavalive
Really, contact him. Its a brilliant idea,
I must say so myself.
I can see it now...
We love you Pete, don't worry what the others say.
As for the debate, I watched. Obama dominated McCain. As always.
So, take have fun ans keep safe.
Try to be less awake than owls tonight.
Lisa, ur french heart with her head on a rocket to her dreams
good luck love
bye peteyyy
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j3GpSmgtvMg
otherwise, i hope the next debate is a bit more exhilerating. i wanna see some metaphoric senatorial blood spill or something.
CNN had an audience reaction gauge. I think it was flawed though, because it seemed that anytime either candidate said anything, the independent line increased, and then the respective party rose as their specific candidate spoke. which is expected, but really? the republicans are getting excited just by mccain mentioning "well last year this happened"? come on....whatever.
hope it gets better
that artwork looks amazing and i love the rest of his work
him and clandestine should team up and make some sweet shirts
I was up at 4am watching the debate on the news (being from the UK kinda sucks), and it's kind of sad to see how little some of the people in the UK care about the US president - of course it effects them, some people have no idea. I thought Obama was precise and strong with his answers, he's so eloquent too. He can certainly talk. However, at the same time it was pretty mediocre, but at the very least Obama addressed the questions instead of dancing around them...
On a more personal note,
"i feel like all three companions of dorothy combined in one- the heartless, brainless, gutless mess. i read a letter today where someone said they thought of me or prayed for me every night. i dont know how to take that. but this gutless, brainless, heartless mess feels lucky to even come across your mind. so thanks. thats it. good night. im not going to sleep..... but ill be quiet."
MADE ME CRY. Thanks a lot, ya jerk.
If you get a chance, to to www.animalplanet.com starting Monday and cast a vote you can really feel good about...Jacci Moss is one of 10 finalists for Cat Hero Of The Year. She is the most absolute best person I've ever met and totally deserves this. Or you could just post a blog with information. www.petfinder.com/shelters/OH572.html
Have a great day. We absolutely love you. Don't really know you personally, but you give us so much of yourself, we feel as if we do.
exactly what i wanted to say
=)
brb voting!
quite appropriate really
the album cover is awesome, although i do think the emo in me would have enjoyed it more if that picture up there were the album cover. you guys made a good call.
oh and .... midtown followed by blink, on the moon. conceptual genius.
here's to a shitty week.
later pete.
Sorry you had such a tough week, it's tends to happen to the normal folk from time to time.
Keep on keepin on. ;)
The debate was interesting but for the most part I just found McCain's methods of debating hilarious, honestly.
The debate made me want to gouge my ears out. McCain drives me nuts. The only time I can stand to hear him talk is when the Daily Show or the Colbert Report have clips. Which is ridiculous because I WANT to hear both sides but I can't deal with his crap anymore.
hope things are better next week. :D
In other news, I'm flying from Minneapolis to London to see you on the 22nd. I can't wait(:
you guys and mark hoppus on the moon damn thats gonna be in my dreams tonight.
il see you guys soon anyway birmingham on the 19th of october its gonna take me like 4 hours to get there but i know you guys will make my day.
and i hear you read these pete so hopefully your reading this whats gone on with the video man who`s at fault? i know it sucks that your work went to waste but are you gonna do anything about it? and respect for donating the money to charity your a good man stick at it.
and your also going to birmingham on the 19th
XD
/end wierdness
Mccain dropped a few good lines and so did obama, i wouldn't really say either one won over the other, i think they are tied right now. we'll see where it all goes from here, should be interesting!
as for the cover art- i LOVE it. i don't know why everyone is wiggin' out.
haha and spencer pratt getting knocked out in the vid=great. but you...well. i think we would spare you one before decking you in the face. hahaha.
the debate?unfortunatley i didn't watch it.i'm not old enough to vote [[not my reason for not watching it]]. but i'm old enough to care. i just can't decide who i like. there are reasons why i love Obama. and reasons why i hate McCain. But then again, there are reasons why i only "like" obama and "like" McCain.
i really really like the picture posted with this as well. ;]
Mum mentioned something about McCain not wanting to go ahead with it.
So I assume it did happen.
Hahaha.
I should probably start taking the time out of my day to read up on American politics.
Actually, I have no idea about Australian politics except that K-Rudd has had something like 17 overseas trips since he's been in office.
It makes me wish they had a subject to do with it at my school.
I would have taken it because I enjoy learning about these things.
Can we talk about the imminent recession?
p.s. this week is dragging me through the mud as well...and if one more person says "cheer up buttercup" i just may lose it...but i do hope things get better for you.
Nice choice :) now all you need is Kaws for your tour lol...
(I'm serious)
the debates were...interesting. I think sometimes it goes beyond politics and gets a little personal.
keep your head up dude, you gots a baby and wife and a band and a family and fans who love you.
and we're only just getting the presidential debate broadcast on TV over here
and i'm getting increasingly maddened by the fact McCain will not look Obama in the eye
that is basic manners and decency when your debating against someone
argh
i dislike shouting at the TV
i get way way too involved when it comes to international politics
As for the debate, it was one jab after another. However, every time that McCain tried to speak, he might has well have been doing Axl Rose's awkward sidewinder dance.
My interpretation of the debate:
"I have a bracelet!"
"yeah well i have a bracelet too"
Man not gonna lie, I am so scared right now.
And also, I don't think you're a douche bag.
Spencer Pratt, yes, you, no. At least in my opinion.
Didn't see the debate. :( I had to work.
I listened to a good one about the Canadian election though. :)
xox
I hope that you are feeling better and that nothing is too crappy anymore. I kind of know how you feel about the crappiness. Good luck.
Thanks for keeping us all sane. While some people may not appreciate you, there are 100 more who do.
i love luke chueh's art i think its amazing.
anyways video kick ass.
+
next week will be better.
=]
P.S. I love the album art. It's unique and it demands a second look, which in my mind, is everything you want in an album cover. I hope you feel better Pete.
xoxo Jessie Thrash
(And for the record, you're not a "d-bag".)
subject: getting political on yo ass
which is something I'm not the biggest fan of, but seriously.... did you watch the debate last night? because I don't think Jill Hazelbaker, McCain's communications director did...
"There was one man who was presidential tonight, that man was John McCain. There was another who was political, that was Barack Obama. John McCain won this debate and controlled the dialogue throughout, whether it was the economy, taxes, spending, Iraq or Iran. There was a leadership gap, a judgment gap, and a boldness gap on display tonight, a fact Barack Obama acknowledged when he said John McCain was right at least five times. Tonight's debate showed John McCain in command of the issues and presenting a clear agenda for America's future." –Jill Hazelbaker, McCain-Palin 2008 Communications Director
If controlling the dialogue throughout means constantly interrupting and being completely out of turn, then yes... McCain did a fantastic job! The man only listened long enough to make a Monty Burns-like chuckle and start on his defense in the middle of Obama's answers. Then wouldn't stop until they were out of time. And as for Obama saying McCain was "right at least five times", I believe Ms. Hazelbaker is referring to the many times McCain went on long tangents- similar to those my grandpa makes when he can't find his teeth- ten seconds into Obama's responses and Obama had to counter to try and regain control (ie get this man to shut up so he can make his point in full)
so he would begin with "yes, you are right, BUT...". In a debate you need to listen, otherwise you're most likely just yelling about off-topic subjects that to put it simply- make you look damn butthurt. It reminds me of the RNC when a protestor interrupted McCain's acceptance speech, he looked to the crowd with a grin and said "old friends, please ignore the static". Static? That's what he calls people with different viewpoints? Then I assume at the very least half of this country is just ignorable and pointless static. Great job portraying the "ordinary man of the people", but I think I'll be going with the "celebrity" on this one.
seriously, you only see what you want to see. you're blind.
did you not see what obama did with the bracelet. trying to get attention. and he didn't even know the soldiers name. he had to look down and read it. it was so fake. not to mention the family of the soldier asked him repeatedly not to wear it out of respect for them. So, he uses it to try and one up John McCain in a presidential debate.
Very Mature.
As for the question of the day, I'm Canadian. I didn't watch the debate, I was at a discussion about the state of arts funding in Canada hosted at a friend of mine's theatre company's studio instead (which really only means that I would've gone anyways, but this way I got conned into helping set up.). We've just had our own election announced (basically illegally, according to a law passed by the guy in office not long after he took office.), so that's where my attention's focussed. And although the party leaders are not quite as charismatic as Obama, it looks like it'll be an interesting run, if some of the antics of the MPs and party representatives keep up. And to be honest, after having one leader who wore roses and capes and did a pirouette behind the Queen, and another one who knocked an intruder into his home out cold with an Inuit statue, most people are gonna fall a bit flat.
I hope your next week more than makes up for this one, then. And the video is wicked, as always Pete.
he claims that he'll bring change, but his views are the same to those of bush.
if mccain wins, i wont be able to afford to go to school or even live here in the states.
what i hate the most is that they keep on mocking obama for being a community organizer.
well, guess who else was a community organizer. JESUS.
assholes.
i love the album art. and i understand it, for the most part.
the fans, me, we all love you and we've got your back, despite of what some lame, angry kids say. and i hope next week and tomorrow isn't so crappy for you. :]
Honestly, I love the cover art and the artists' work in general, which you have turned me on to, thanks.
You are not a d-bag.
The debates seemed more or less useless to me. Why can't politicians ever have real arguements?
Seriously though, we're all thinking about you all the time and we're thinking good thoughts a lot more often than you think.
truefuckinglove.
I believe in Barack Obama.
Let me just say that it's good to see something besides:
A) "Go buy our new single on iTunes!"
B) "Make sure you check out 'I Don't Care' on iTunes now!"
or C) Answers in the Q&A section of FOBR to questions that tell you how amazing of a person you are and how we haven't lost faith in you.
While I don't dog you for any of those things (I know you are an artist and you have the right to promote your music on your band's website; I know you like to get an uplifting message from an anonymous fan submitted via internet - I can't blame you, I would enjoy those things as much as you probably do, if not more)... it's nice to see something like this. I don't know why, because it's partly about what I just mentioned above, but it instilled something inspirational in me, and it makes me all the more excited about the new album.
I haven't lost faith in you. I don't think you need a question on FOBR to be reassured - all of your fans love you for who you are, not (just) the music you create. I think I'm kind of getting sidetracked, but... I just felt like telling you that, though you may not take this comment to heart like I want you to.
I hope you are feeling better... I've had a crappy week too, and we all go through it, but sometimes it's good to know someone else out there is sleeping a little less comfortably because they are upset as well.
With love,
Chelsea
i loved how u had palin at the end of the video it was hilarious but very scary. i dont like her. she looked like she wanted to murder u guys! even tho it wasnt rly her. how did u guys do tht? amazing video! i loved it good job
sorry to hear about ur crappy week...ive had a very crappy week too :[ schools rough. i hope u have a better week next week.
the debate was pretty good. i think obama won the first half with the questions on the economy, and mccain won the second half with the questions on foreign policy.
and by the way, even though i disagree with you on who should be elected president, i think a lot of people are getting interested in the election because you talk about it so much. which is certainly a good thing, no matter who you're voting for.
can't wait for the album! and thanks for continuing to be awesome!
Also, someone post about Invisible Children, and how you should get back into promoting that and all. I think thats a good idea. You got me into it to start with - I admire how much you believe in it. I wrote an article on it for my school newspaper, even. I guess its sort of like how Andy got me into animal rights and vegetarianism. I admire how much you guys can commit. And choose things that really need attenion.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=39puq5v0RG8
here's a link. don't ask where i got it from
http://www.sendspace.com/file/pqjrko
i posted practically the same thing on q&a on fobr.
about the debate. i fucking missed it. i work at ihop. night shifts. its probably on youtube or something.
i dont know, i was extremely excited once i realized that i would be able to vote this year for the first time. but this whole "you have to pick" is really giving me a headache. i think im just gonna go register and vote for myself. shit, im going to ask my friends to do the same. i mean if i can sabotage the whole election then i could possibly become president. ill just make a video and post that shit on youtube, thats the quickest way of spreading the news around without having to spend millions, right. but then again, i dont want to be the first lady/Hispanic/dark skinned president of the united states. i love my life and i dont want to be assassinated.
BUT who cares, leeman brothers is fucked. Chase bought WAMU. by the time i get out of college its going to take me years to find a job cause of this fucking economic collapse.
when/if the start addressing how the printed umphteen millions of dollar to buy fucking trash to save a company's ass then tell me to turn on the fucking tv. until then, why dont they print me some money so i can make it through effin college. shit.
RIP Jack Kerouac!
And about the crappy week, no worries love everything will be great...I know what you mean though, my week wasn't that great either. Nothing a six pack (or twelve) wouldn't fix for me, but hopefully you are better than me. hahaha
peace
♥
seriously i am excited as hell for november to roll around and i appreciate you sharing everything with us. thank you.
Not to mention she thinks I'm like WAY too obsessed with FOB and PATD. But I can't help it. What's life without music? And your guys' music amazes me everytime. Never fails.
P.S. You boys are going to make my dating so hard!!!!! You know, being perfect and what not. I know not all guys are as great as you, but how awesome would that be? A world full of Pete Wentz's Ugh! I melt just thinking of it!
I love you Pete!
i like the album cover as well.
i didn't find out about the debate until after it was done.
i would've liked to watch it though.
well, i hope next week turns out great for you.
the debate was kinda disappointing. if i wanted to watch someone dance in circles around themselves i would have watched the grink circa 1992
i like the album cover as well.
i didn't find out about the debate until after it was done.
i would've liked to watch it though.
well, i hope next week turns out great for you.
I love you.
And I hope you feel better,
because you feeling crappy makes me feel bad about not being able to hug you.
i've only seen luke's art through what you've posted really and i like it personally. it's complicated in a simple way.
spencer pratt? oh so that's who he is. now i know the name and the face, i just need to know the why when i have the incentive to look it up. yes i am lazy, thanks for asking.
i was annoyed that McCain couldn't make eye contact. that's a major pet peeve (ugg i hate that saying) of mine. but i think they both did well. i only say that because i thought that McCain was going to bomb but he seemed okayish. i'd say Obama came out looking better though.
man i've been following american politics more than canadian recently... and we have an election coming up soon :z
oh well, i'd rather have an opinion formed when they think nobody's watching then when the campaign bullshit comes forward and it becomes a matter of picking who you think lies the least. i guess i'm just a fly on the wall really. glad to be voting this year.
as for a weak attempt at cheering you up a bit, this was posted over on livejournal secret: http://i36.tinypic.com/2mgqfmb.png :)
i wish...i wish.
Okay okay I know you probably struggle too behind the scenes, but you make it look so easy with the ideas. At least your ideas have impacted lives in a good way.
♥
but i liked it. it was so different than any other thing out there.
and if you are hi-fiving mark hoppus on the moon while he gets ready for a blink show, i'm right there with you.
you and mark should tour together again. because there is nothing better than seeing my two favorite bassists on the same night : )
oh the music you two make... i love it so much
also, i absolutely love everything you're doing right now and back you guys 110%. i'm not a huge fan of the cover, but i think it's a fresh idea and i will certainly look into luke chueh's stuff.
i hope everything's going great with your lady and i hope the baby is healthy. i am so happy for you and how much your life has changed in the past year or so. funny..... it wasn't that long ago you were making jokes about never moving out of your parents house.
thanks again, and i really hope you read this. i'm sorry it was so long and boring. i have a hard time making myself seem interesting
I thought the debate was good, Obama did great. :)
Pete, I really hope that the rest of you're week will be awesome. honestly. :D
bad weeks suck.
mine was pretty rotten till i went ice skating with this girl i don't know too well and she told me she laughed more with me than any other person ever.
that just about made my week.
But, I don't think the album cover means as much as the music. I like the cover art, but what is it. I will have to look at again to try to figure it out. I think the best cover art so far was Infinity On High, and a fan designed this, so I know you would probably think it was the best one too since you didn't design it. I don't think you give yourself enough credit, you sound like Jon Garland, he plays for the Angels now. He doesn't think he deserves a spot in the playoff rotation.
I watched some of the debate, but I missed about 30 minutes, because I had to go out and buy bananas for smoothies before work tommorrow. Of course that is not all what I eat before work, I have to eat some carbs. However this is unrelated to the debate.
I am going to look at it again, I had posted a response on William Beckett's blog about this. I said that I don't know if we should mix politics with religion. Also, I think some people political beliefs are as sacred as religion. I don't like to impose my views on people either. I remember when I was volunteer for one of the Presidential candidates last year, I called people on the phone, and somebody practically told me it was none of my business. One person started talking about religion and just really got upset for me asking her. I really think politics can be very personal and sacred to some people because there was a time before these amendments were passed, many were not able to vote. I remember women and African Americans were not allowed to vote but it is stupid is you ask me. I like the the song by Greenday, "American Idiot"
PS. Don't worry about I understand it is just one of those weeks that a boy goes through. I have bad weeks too sometimes, today I had to suffer through a sinus headache.
Thanks Pete, I was wonding who the heck it was under your mask at the end of the clip when you got knocked out. Seriously (I have been away), the clip still turned out really well and had me laughing. I love the thought and effort you guys put into your video clips. Don't feel bad, at least, not for too long.
Haha. i think I'm overly tired. Or maybe not...I don't even know dude! Would I really call you that when it's out where you can actually see it? I don't remember. haha. Wow... I think I need to go to sleep. But I can't. Because then the weekend would be over. And no more listening to FOB. =( School's no iPod rule is very tragic!
Night! =D
I'm sorry you've had a crappy week, Pete. I'm sending you good thoughts, and I wish you the best.
As for your self-deprecation: you are not a douche bag, nor are you remotely comparable in that sense (or, as far as I'm aware, in any other) to Spencer Pratt. (Haven't you got yet that most of the people on here will hotly defend you, even against yourself?)
I have yet to watch the debate on youtube. From what I saw from reports it seemed to go pretty well Obama-wise, though, so I shall cross my fingers. (Also, every single time I think about US politics, I get The Hush Sound's "We Believe in (Barack Obama)" in my head. Like, for HOURS.)
I'm sorry you had a crappy week for personal reasons. :( I really hope that everything that's gone wrong sorts itself out for you, and that this week turns out better.
I love sitting here talking shite to you that you may or may not read. ANYWAY I am sorry you have had a shitty week hun, it happens to us all. I had a good week, I still love my new job and it was payday so there was a HUGE clothing blow out yesterday. I planned y 30th birthday party (please join us if you find yourself in grey rainy northern england at the end of november). I really wanted some supras for my birthday instead I managed to get hold of a marauder hoodie (which i don't know if i should wear or frame)
I like the album art, i had never heard of luke before but i like it, i am always up for knowing about new artists although i would have had banksey do my album art. AND do you think you could get the boy ronson to do some FOB remixes? awesome
in regards to the presidential debate - being english we have enough shit going on with our own politics - although i truly hope the right person wins
i think thats all
have a better week mr wentz, after all the treats you have given recently you deserve it
My name is Laure (unpronouncable in English, so, just say Lauren, Laure is a French name. I'm French, actually. That's why, i'm sorry for the mistake i must make. -__-'). I just wanted to tell you that i love the way you write. That must look stupid, but i'm not kiddin'. I know you write the lyrics of the FOB's songs, and i love them (okay, i admit, sometimes, i don't understand everything, but forgive me iv'e been studying english only for a few years...). And a great fan of your band. I'm wainting impatiently (does this word exist ?) for Folie à Deux. And i found the cover GREAT TOO. You'll give a concert in Paris, the 13th of october won't you ? that's it. I CAN'T COME ! Actually, my mum doesn't want me to go alone, and doesn't want to come with me. It is sold out, anyway... So i cry every night (maybe not every night...) listenning to "the (after) life of the party" or "Sugar we're going down", hoping you'll give another another show SOON ! That's all for today. I'll come back to see other texts, to smile a bit :)
I hope he reads mine too.
Peace!
mine wasn't great either.
i hope next week is better for you =]
but your new video realy did cheer me up,its amazing.
and on the subject of the debate,(as im bristish)i didnt see it,but i guess i'm not really polictically involedd either.even though i probably should be.
p.s to me and alot of people, you dont seem like a douche bag. (and i really like the new album cover (:)
Who are these guests that you've named for the record? Have I missed somethign here?
And I'm really exited, just found out you guys are playing Switch Live, I couldn't make it to the other UK shows but this one is possible for me, I have to try get tickets! Not sure how to yet though. Haha, can you get me one Pete?! :)
i am sorry you had a crappy week :[ i hope it gets better.
and i will check out luke's artwork.
cannot wait for the album.
thanks.
juliet
as for the debate, i'm not of legal voting age... i tried watching it, but couldn't resist my guitar (yes, it was an empire of the republic :]) from across the room. but asking about it makes you seem very mature pete :P
on another note, all of u guys in FOB are blessed (i couldn't find a better term, i'm not all that religious). i mean, u dont care at all what people think or say about you because you're doin what u love. i wish i could do that...
You know you said that it was for personal reasons. Is it cus your Bakery van broke down and you ate too many Sprinkles?
We're here for you. If you ever feel down, just post a message and we will help you feel better.
x
You said it was because of personal reasons. Is it because your Fresh Only Bakery delivery van broke down and you ate too many Sprinkles?
If you ever feel down, we (your fans)'re here for you
x
firstly, you may write "dear interested reader" for me. i'm always interested in what you say
secondly, i love the album art. luke chueh is really talented. one of his paintings is currently my myspace profile picture.
thirdly, i've been hearing a lot of rumours about people making guest appearances on the album, but i won't believe it unless i hear it from you guys.
in response to question of the day, i don't live in america so i haven't seen the debate but if i see it on any of the news channels over here i'll watch it, i'm actually quite interested in it.
and lastly, i'm sorry that you had a crappy week. i hope you're feeling better soon.
love alannah xo
ps. pete, you are awesome.
And about the debate, I think Obama owned it mostly. Well, because I do believe in most of what Democrats stand for.
I really loved it when Obama talked about pulling out of Iraq because we have millions of other things to worry about than what's going on over there. (Even though it is kind of important).
=)=) No joke I'm dressing up as him for Halloween.
"Can I have some candy? And your vote?"
Okay I'm done now.
!Megan
and about the debates, i didn't watch, but i overheard my dad rooting about mccain and calling obama various amounts of words that would make me look like an ass for even saying them. i wasn't interested, i knew it was just going to upset me or make me think to much.
i have however concluded that if obama doesn't win, i'm going to live in my attic for four years. :]
i don't like it when your weeks are bad. it makes my weeks bad too and as if i haven't got enough of those already, haha. have a good next week and the week after and the week after. i'm always thinking about you, praying over you, so keep strong, yeah?
Though I hope this will cheer you up, I have an awesome band in montreal that are really really great.
here's their Myspace: http://www.myspace.com/lastcrow
I can't stop listening to them, their melody and lyrics are pretty good and I can't imagine how good they will sound in studio if they have their chance in the music industry. Please listen to them, they're really great =D
I caught just the last half of the debate on CNN. I thought both McCain and Obama made really strong points. McCain has a really strong foreign policy agenda, but I find Obama's economic platform/strategy much more appealing. If I were an American I'd be more concerned about having economic security and fortifying my country's defenses first before I go out and try to deal with other countries. But that's just me. And besides, I think that's one thing that any concerned citizen of any country would want to have anyway, so...
Aww, Pete. I'm sorry to hear that you had a crappy week. I hope everything's fine now. Take it easy on yourself, okay? =)
EDIT: I just saw the "I Don't Care" video and it was beyond what I expected! I was laughing and staring the entire time I was watching it, with my mouth open. Evil Fall Out Boy is hot! Lol! I loved JoeTroh in it! Lmfao! And the cameo's are wicked cool by the way. =)
Tsk-tsk, Patrick for stealing the old man's walker...Lol! =)
i just saw the new video (what kinda fan am i!?!) i have to say it made my day/week/month/year. its hilarious. and pretty much true. my favorite part is either joe taking his mask off and showing gabe, or you sitting in the car dancing. the sad part is, thats how i dance in the car, haha. but i am a little pissed. about a year and a half ago, my friends and i made a video about "the alternate personalities of fall out boy". since patrick is known for being a nice, down to earth guy, we portrayed him as an asshole, who made andy his slave. haha. anyway, you totally stole that idea from us!
i like the new album cover a lot. i think it's probably my favorite, although i do like evening out with your girlfriend. that one is just so innocent. its nice. im also glad you got that artist to do the cover for you. thats like patrick coming to my house and singing me to sleep (*swoon*).
answer of the day: it was a bit boring. i think both candidates could have done better. they both repeated the same things theve been saying in interviews and speeches. although, i think obama won this round. mccain needs to stop critisizing obama, and get to the point. i feel the need to tell him to grow a pair and tell us EXACTLY what hes going to do for our country. honestly, im pretty into these things, but this debate was just too boring. after an hour of watching it, i went into my room and did my homework while listening to tokio hotel (my current obsession).
an answering your ps: i like to think im pretty easy on you! besides that time i called you an asshole.... well, you kinda had that coming. ugh, now i feel bad. so ill give you a compliment.
pete wentz has really, really, REALLY awesome taste in shoes.
I live in Ireland so infairness it was on too late even for me.
But I found McCain to be very condecending towards Obama.
Saying he was too young and inexpirienced.
Also the fact that McCain was talking about looking back and what he has done.
He has to realize that you can't live on past merit.
And I'm sorry about your bad week. :( Shitty weeks come and go. Things will get better.
people watching is a blast in general. let alone in the morning ;]
get some sleep though kid.
you prolly need it more than anyone
ps : my dad worked on Indiana Jones 4 and i got to meet han solo himself. i swear he is just like my uncle its fucking awesome. sorry fr bragging
I, personally, was frustrated by the debate. I understand because of the financial crisis neither candidate is taking a stroke position on what calls to make on the bailout but this was their time to show the people firmly where they stand on the issues. Isn't that the point of these amazingly hyped debates? I've been volunteering for the Obama campaign for the last 4 months here at my college so there wasn't anything said about either candidates beliefs/view points that I didn't already know. I liked that Barack was able to go round for round with McCain on foreign policy. (Speaking of which, I can't WAIT to see the VP debate. Oh shit, it's going to be fantastic! Pretty sure I have more foreign policy experience than her since I've volunteered with a youth group in Mexico... but I digress.) I think it was neutral, no clear winner.
You've got a beautiful wife, future child, friends, fans, and parents. Everyone has low weeks, but we've all got a lot of life changing experiences and events in the close future. Things are going to be looking up.
i agree that luke chueh is amazing. any one who sites yoshitomo nara as an influence scores points with me automatically. i think the cover is great and very unique from anything you have had before. today our world is one of instant gratification. Unfortunately, it is also one of instant judgement. for the most part i am amazed at the grace and style that many of the kids use to express themselves. they are way above where i was as a teen. but on the other hand there are many idiots (young and old) out there too. and a bad week just magnifies everything. keep the faith and take solace in the fact that the many diehards outweigh the few non-believers.
Obama Won.
end of story and i love love love the cover art.
I myself didn't have the greatest week ever. but there's always
room for a better day.
You're amazing, Pete. Never forget it. < 3
What a coward.
maybe im being a bit too radical, but oh well.
I think McCain just needs to up his game a bit as far as his debating skills go.
They both did well though.
Also, I doubt if you'll even read this.
I think you should touch on the point that not all fall out boy fans that are of voting age are voting for Obama simply because you and/or your band/label mates support him. (I have been a supporter of his ever since I heard of him) Often times when I mention that I'm a Fall Out Boy fan as well as a supporter, mostly on FOBR, I'm automatically jumped on by people saying that I don't know anything and I'm just following your "guidance"
http://newsbusters.org/blogs/warner-todd-huston...
First time most people heard him was at the DNC in Boston, 2004. He was introduced to thunderous applause, and for what reason? I don't think he had done so much beforehand to help serve people.
I had no idea why everyone was clapping and I got an immediate sense of something being..off. with him, and how people reacted to him.
i love your reference you made to asking Luke to do the cover of your album.
It made me smile so big, you have no idea.
The I don't Care video made me laugh.
I was in a really shitty mood earlier too, then I went here and you make me so happy, you always do.
You have no idea how I love you, no matter what stage of my life I am in, I will always love you guys(:
is the man in the bear suit suppose to be you?
I see a striking resemblance.
no matter who/what it symbolizes, it is amazing.
it leaves a lot of questions unanswered in my mind.
I think the debate was good, Obama really stood up for himself.
On another note, what's with Palin (I think that's how you spell it..) in the video?
That was kinda odd.
But, I guess I shouldn't expect anything less from Fall Out Boy..
Your music videos are always odd but, definitely awesome.
~Teddy
like Furious Freddy {the bear getting the piggy back ride} and Bogus Bear
Couldn't watch the debate, can only say that Mccain always reminds me of a hamster with those pouches on the sides of his face (i know that sounds weird), too old aswell. Hope Obama wins.
wtf? sarah palin? im still figuring that part of the video out. but i was definitly freaked out when you were the man-behind-the-mask of the "superstar lady"
(insert a Wizard Of Oz joke, about the curtain)
you always get what you want now, huh?
think of the debate? nobody thinks, peter, they feel.
I feel that Obama is in way over his head. Everything he said sure, sounds great, but how is it feasible? I agree more so with what McCain said about the economy. It is more realistic. That, and Obama acted and sounded like a pissy schoolboy who didn't get his way.
ps. do you ever eat your dinner and brush your teeth at 3 in the morning just to feel like you're sharing something with the eastern hemisphere?
<3 Delphina (A 13 year old who believes in Barack Obama!)
this will come back to haunt mr. obama.
and i disagree. for the most part, barack obama seemed irritated. And, smug.
He thinks he is effing superman. guess what, there's already one god and one superman, and you need to stop pretending like you're qualified to fill that role, obama.
he is so ego-centric. and i know this because i have a father and a big family full of people who act very similair to him.
Also, just something I noticed, you said "there's already one god..." and that could be seen as offensive to someone from different beliefs as you. I'm an atheist, but it doesn't bother me either way, it's just that, for example, some religions are polytheistic, and they believe in more than one.
Thanks for taking the time to read my last post and create a good rebuttle, though!
I love talking politics with anyone who's willing. :)
<3 Delphina
I am not supporting John McCain, but I defiantely do not support Obama.
I have to walk my puppy at the moment, but sure, we can talk about this or whatever at a later time, yes?
actually i too think it's the best cover you've ever done. i really honestly do. i think it really...i don't know...like...channels the essence of you guys. it's like, if someone took you four, and made you into a painting, that would be it...does that makes sense? like, i think it's a good representation of your band and how you are. it's weird but not really weird just sort of...ironic and sarcastic. and just overall...really awesome...i don't know if that makes sense. i'm sure your better with words anyways :D
i watched the debate. and it was good and all. i think overall Obama won that round. but was really entertaining about was how Mccain just kept getting mad cause Obama kept calling him John. and Mccain called Obama, Senator Obama. i think it was real clever of Obama to address Mccain by his first name because then the debate gets on a more personal level. and i thought that was real clever on Obama's part.
it's too bad you've had a bad week. i hope stuff gets better :D. can't wait to talk to you on tuesday! and i have a question... why make it on a weekday? when everyone will be in school? i actaully have study hall during the chat, and lunch after that and i always carry around my school laptop (yes, we get laptops at school to carry around. if our gpa's are highte than 3.3) the only thing i'm worried about is that the site will be blocked and i won't be able to get on. which would be bad...
oh, and, when is it over? or will i be able to come home and you'll still be on...
peace out homes. :D
On a side note, Luke is what I would consider a minimal artist. The fact that he can capture an emotional in a single action in basic colors and identifiable objects is what makes his art captivating.
I have a question, though. Have you ever met someone who was just such an amazing person that it blew your mind when you found out about what kind of shit they went through in their past? And I don't mean a bad past like serious depression or anything like that. I mean more like...unbelievably stuff that I still can't believe he survived.
I have to wonder...why has my depression made me so much less of an amazing person when he's overcome hell without being the worst person in the world.
www.myspace.com/thearrival
and just to make my opinion heard, I love the album art for folie a deux.
as for the debate...I have to say, McCain is a horrible public speaker. Obama touched on a lot of good topics and made some great points, whereas I think McCain wasn't challenging enough of what Obama was presenting and got stuck on less important things.
We're never satisfied, are we?
If it makes you feel any better, I defend FOB against the haters I know. I'm one of those crazy die-hards, haha.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=39puq5v0RG8
holyshit that would be my wildest dream come true.
except, i've never thought about it being on the moon.
just the midtown + blink (and high fiving mark) is good enough for me!
that's all....
The I don't care video was amazing, definitely one of my favourite FOB videos.
I can't wait for the album to come out haven't been this excited about something for a long time.
and Pete I really hope this week turns out better for you.
the 'i dont care' video is totally blew my mind! i knew its gonna be great but it turned out that its much more better than ive ever imagined. my fav part is when joe turns into gabe. wow, man! that was awsome! i laughted so hard that i almost fall from my chair. during the second, third, 100...watch i was sitting on the floor. :D
i was surprised that you looked pretty cool in it too! no offens, i didnt wanna be rude. i just noticed that you looked great! oh and that 'dancing' sorta thing that you did with the security guy was impressive. maybe you have good skills for dancing... :P
anywayz, i dont wanna just say how brilliant fall out boy is.
i have a question that might be stupid. ya know, im not american so maybe its just me but...how can you support obama so clearly. i mean you make shirts with 'suport obama', you make a cd (mixtape) filled with thoughts about the nomination, you say it infron of the cameras that you support him and all your friends too (cobras, tai...). in my country (hungary) its not safe do that. is america so different? you can really do anything?
oh and tell patrick that hes a miracle for me! how can he put on and than loose weight so quick? :P
have a good day!
i want the bears tattooed on me. They are so simple yet the drawings and what they symbolise means so much.
Anyway - I just wanted to say Thanks for sharing Luke Chueh's work... I really liked it. I checked out the work on his website, and the site is bookmarked now :P
Have you heard of Mark Rydan? You might like his work as well :)
it's so simple,
but genius at the same time
the debate was pretty interesting
i liked how obama turned around mccain's story about the bracelet
i hope this coming week is better for you!
: )
i think the cover is great. from a graphic design point of view the colors work really well and his vision really does seem to define what the meaning of the CD is.
sorry to bust your balls - but i think that you should post about it again to get more people to care
